This photograph looks over the summit of Mount Washington to the only slightly distant peaks of Mounts Adams and Madison. The ridge thrusting east of Jefferson, into the Great Gulf, intervenes. The valley of the Androscoggin Valley lies to the northeast, beyond the Range.
