In this view of the mountain from the southeast, the small details of buildings and roads in the area in the foreground may be as intriguing as the view of the distant high mountains. The view looks over Mount Stanton, thence over Iron Mountain and the Montalban Ridge. Much of the Presidential Range, from Mount Pleasant (Eisenhower) to Mount Madison hovers, almost cloud-like, near the horizon.
